FAQs

Get answers to your most pressing questions about our timber flooring services.

What's the difference between solid and engineered timber?

Solid timber is a single piece of wood, it can be sanded and refinished multiple times over its lifetime, which is why it's a long-term investment. Engineered timber has a real timber veneer over a stable core, making it more resistant to humidity and movement. It's the better choice for slabs, underfloor heating, or coastal homes. We'll recommend which is right for your situation during the quote.

Can timber be installed over a concrete slab?

Yes. Engineered timber is particularly well-suited to concrete and can be glued down or floated. Solid timber can also go over concrete with the right preparation. We assess your subfloor as part of the free measure.

How long does installation take?

Most homes are completed in 1–3 days. We'll give you a specific timeline before we start so you can plan around it.

How do I maintain a timber floor after installation?

Regular sweeping and occasional damp mopping with a timber-appropriate cleaner is all it takes. We provide specific care instructions suited to your floor's species and finish when we complete the job.

What warranty does the installation come with?

Every installation is covered by our workmanship guarantee, plus the manufacturer's product warranty on the timber itself. If there's an installation issue, we come back and fix it.
